  11. The Tennessee Secretary of State's Citizen's Guide outlines the rules regulating campaign contributions. In brief, personal checks as well as checks from LLCs, Private Partnerships and Political Action Committee are accepted. However, checks from foreign nationals and corporate checks are not accepted. Contributions are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Contribution limits are $1,400 per person or $2,800 per couple per election. Incumbent state legislators are barred from accepting contributions from individuals from the first day of Session until June 1 in odd numbered years or until May 15th in even numbered years from individuals, and from PACs until Session ends. The next session of the General Assembly starts in mid-January, so make sure to get your contribution in before then. This donation page will be inactive during the session until May 15, 2012.
